In the dictionary the definition of novelty is the quality of being new and fresh and interesting.

In my point of view

Something new, fresh and interesting is important and will always be part of the human cycle. Everyday, there will be always be something new being invented or made by human.Some made an impact or a cultural revolution and some invention failed. Still, they keep on invent and keep on creating something new and fresh to contribute and make thing's easier for another human. They can improve their own skills prior from learning their past mistakes to make a change and something new.

To be called an innovation, an idea must be replicable at an economical costand must satisfy a specific need. Innovation involves deliberate application of information, imagination, andinitiative in deriving greater or different value fromresources, and encompasses all processes by which new ideas are generated and converted into useful products. Inbusiness, innovation results often from the application of a scientific or technical idea in decreasing the gap between theneeds or expectations of the customers and theperformance of a firm's products. In a social context, innovation is equally important in devising new collaborativemethods such as alliance creation, joint venturing, flexible working hours, and in creating buyers' purchasing powerthrough methods such as hire purchase.

INVENTION

An invention is a new composition, device, or process. An invention may be derived from a pre-existing model or idea, or it could be independently conceived in which case it may be a radical breakthrough. In addition, there is cultural invention, which is an innovative set of useful social behaviors adopted by people and passed on to others.

In my point of view

when it comes to invention, the inventor created something with their own inter personal knowledge and imagination either it is for the greater good of the human being like "Windshield Wiper system invented by Robert Kearns" or even an invention created for the destruction of human being like the "Gas Chamber created by the Nazi Germany invented for mass killing" . And for the process of improvement of invention, innovation are part of the extension of the inventing process.
